Niche Design Architects gives developers, domestic and commercial customers across Yorkshire a full and high quality architectural service with a personal touch.

The RIBA-chartered practice, in Burley-in-Wharfedale, near Ilkley, was founded five years ago by talented and experienced architects, Chris and Cathy Hunt.

Chris Hunt

BA (Hons) M Arch (Dist) ARB RIBA

Before setting up Niche Design in 2010, Chris held senior roles at architectural practices in the North and Southeast, working in all sectors.

He was also Design Manager for an award-winning residential development company, where he gained invaluable insight into large development and contracting.

Chris is also a part-time lecturer in Architecture at Nottingham Trent University. He has a Master’s degree with Distinction from the University of Nottingham and a BA (Hons) degree in Architecture.

Catherine Hunt

BA (Hons) M Arch PGCE

Cathy practised with a number of respected architect firms around the UK before joining Niche Design.

With Bauman Lyons Architects, in Leeds, she was Project Architect for a range of community projects.

She has also practised with Cambridge-based Cowper Griffith Architects, working on university projects and high-specification residential schemes for private clients.

Cathy has a BA (Hons) and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Nottingham.

Favourite building: Villa Savoye, Paris, by Swiss architect Le Corbusier
